About Us

Changing Lives, Changing Destinies

"Impact Ministries International (IMI) exists to use agriculture and business to change lives and destinies through the transforming power of Jesus."

Income-generating farms and businesses fund our humanitarian work — a self-sustaining model we call a City of Refuge.

How it began

A garbage dump, one house, and a hard lesson

In the early 2000s, founders Tom and Dr. Teresa Stamman traveled to Honduras and witnessed extreme poverty firsthand — children searching garbage dumps for food. They refused to look away. IMI's work in Honduras began with one house for orphans and a feeding program.

Then came 2008. The financial crisis made one thing painfully clear: children's lives should never depend on next month's donations. So IMI restructured, adding income-generating components to every project. Farms, businesses, and trade schools now surround and financially support the orphanages and safe houses they exist to protect. Today the flagship City of Refuge near Comayagua, Honduras houses and educates 90 children with 100 staff across more than 80 buildings — and is nearly self-sustaining.

"The Christian faith is about loving Jesus and loving people, and not ignoring the needs that are in front of us."
