Ashly comes from the village of La Sampedrana, where her father works in the fields and cuts wood while her mother cares for the home. They are a loving family, but rural field work in Honduras cannot cover everything a growing girl needs.

At the City of Refuge, Ashly’s days are full of the things she loves: soccer, swimming, and going to church. Her favorite color is pink, and her warmth shows in everything she does.

When she grows up, Ashly wants to be a psychologist, someone who helps people carry what is heavy in their hearts. A sponsor gives her the education and stability that dream deserves.
