Dilcia Yohana García Vásquez comes from Aldea Veracruz in the Comayagua region of Honduras, where her family lives in a humble home with very little to spare.

At the City of Refuge, Dilcia has found plenty of outlets for her energy. She loves sports of all kinds, and swimming most of all. Her favorite color is pink, and apples are her favorite fruit.

Dilcia’s dream sets her apart: she wants to become a lawyer, someone who stands up for people the way people have stood up for her. Sponsorship keeps her fed, safe, and in school, every step of the long road to that goal.
