Genesis lived with her single mother, who works as a housekeeper, and her sister. Their village had no school at all, so for Genesis, education was not a struggle; it simply did not exist where she lived.

The City of Refuge changed that completely. Genesis was shy when she first arrived, as many children are, but she has blossomed into what her caregivers describe as a sweet and studious girl who takes her schoolwork seriously.

Genesis wants to become a doctor when she grows up. For a girl from a village with no school, that dream now has a classroom, teachers, and, with your help, a sponsor to see it through.
