Gloriaage 12 · City of Refuge, Honduras

Gloria’s sister Nazareth was already part of the IMI program when Gloria arrived, so the City of Refuge already felt a little like family. In her home community, the school had one teacher covering six grades at once, and even that teacher was often absent, which made real learning nearly impossible.

At the City of Refuge, Gloria has a full staff of teachers and a classroom that meets every day. Her favorite thing to do for fun is skating, and she brings that same joyful energy to everything else.

Gloria dreams of becoming a doctor. With her sister nearby, a real school in front of her, and a sponsor behind her, she has everything a twelve-year-old needs to chase it.
