Jeancarlos is the youngest child in his family. With his father incarcerated and his mother gone, he was left in the care of his elderly grandmother, who loved him but could not give a growing boy everything he needed.

At the City of Refuge, Jeancarlos has found what every child deserves: regular meals, a safe bed, a school, and adults who show up for him every single day. He loves soccer, and the field at the City of Refuge sees a lot of him.

When he grows up, Jeancarlos wants to be a policeman, someone who protects people. A sponsor stands behind that dream, month after month, until he reaches it.
