Julio’s family is originally from Danlí and has lived in Cedros, Comayagua for more than ten years. In his village, the teachers were unreliable and there was no secondary school at all, so his education would have simply stopped at the end of primary grades.

At the City of Refuge, that ceiling is gone. Julio is in school full time with teachers who show up every day. When class lets out, you will most likely find him on a bicycle; riding his bike is his favorite thing to do. His favorite color is blue, and apples are his favorite fruit.

Julio wants to be a police officer when he grows up. Sponsorship gives him what his village could not: a complete education and a real shot at that uniform.
