Kevin’s mother died when he was just three months old, and the grandmother who took him in passed away four years later. His aunt has cared for him since, doing her best with very little. Getting to school meant an hour-long walk each way on a dangerous route, a risk no child should have to take for an education.

At the City of Refuge, Kevin’s school is safe and close, his meals are regular, and his afternoons belong to soccer, his favorite game.

Kevin wants to become a doctor, a healer for a boy who has known so much loss. Sponsorship gives him the safety and schooling that turn that dream into a plan.
