Lester is the eldest child in his family. He and his younger brother came to the City of Refuge after being left alone, a sixteen-year-old suddenly responsible for a little brother with no adult to turn to.

At the City of Refuge, Lester no longer has to be the grown-up. He and his brother are safe together, cared for by staff who are there around the clock. Lester loves soccer and plays whenever he can.

His dream reaches higher than most: Lester wants to be a pilot. Sponsorship keeps him in school and gives a young man who has already carried heavy things a genuine chance at the sky.
