Samira is the youngest of eight children. In a family stretched that thin, the littlest one often goes without, and there was simply not enough to give Samira the food, care, and schooling a nine-year-old needs.

At the City of Refuge, Samira is flourishing. She loves to swim more than anything, and the pool is where you will find her whenever she gets the chance.

Samira’s dream is to become a doctor. She has years of school ahead of her, and a sponsor makes sure every one of those years is provided for, from breakfast each morning to books in the classroom.
